ENERGY BAR UPDATE
Due to the overwhelming interest of the “MoJoe” bars
that I have been promoting since early December, I felt
obligated to personally give everyone an official update
on what’s been going on.
I’ve literally been getting dozens of phone calls & emails
everyday inquiring about the release date of these highly-anticipated
bars. Now that we are officially 4 months late from our
original release date, I wanted to let everyone in on what
has been happening. DeFranco’s Training Systems,
LLC has become world renowned for our straight-forward,
honest, no bullshit approach to training & business.
Because our reputation is so important to us, I wanted
to write this letter and give everyone the official “scoop” of
what has been going on with these bars. I’m doing
this because this project is the first time that I’ve
ever promised something and did not deliver on my promise.
Now don’t go getting nervous…These bars ARE
coming out very soon; I just wanted to write this letter
because they didn’t come out (in January) like I
originally promised.
Here’s the deal (and I will save you a lot of boring
details). I am new to the supplement industry. I started
DeFranco’s Sports Nutrition, LLC last June when I
was in the process of formulating the ingredients for this
incredible product. After many sleepless nights and endless
hours of research & work, the final product was done
in November. My graphic artist also had the artwork for
the packaging completed and ready to go at this time. At
this point, we just had to have the packaging “O.K.’d” and
then the bars would go to production. (Production of the
bars would take 4-6 weeks). This is where I will take the
blame. I should have kept my mouth shut and just waited
until the bars officially went to production before I said
anything. Instead, I opened my BIGGGG mouth! To make a
long story short, everything takes much longer than I ever
expected because everything has to be approved by a team
of people. For example, originally the bar contained 1500mg.
of L-Tyrosine so that’s what it said on our original
packaging. After we finished the final test-batch of bars
and re-formulated the product, the bar contained 1800mg.
of L-Tyrosine. So we had to change the “5” to
an “8” on the artwork for the package. No big
deal, right? Well, changing one number on the packaging
is NOT a big deal. The thing that takes so much time is
that every minor change has to be “approved” by
a team of different people. Turns out that these people
are extremely busy; In this case, it took 3 weeks to get
the “approval” on the packaging when we went
from 1500mg. to 1800mg. This isn’t anyone’s
fault, it’s just that I had no idea how slow things
move in this business.
After 5 months of minor changes like the one I mentioned
above, I was about to quit the entire project. I literally
couldn’t take it anymore. I can’t get into
all the specific details, but let’s just say that
it was really wearing me out. But then, 2 weeks ago, the
unthinkable happened! I got the call…the call that
I’m referring to is the call in which I was informed
that EVERYTHING was approved and we were going to production!
I thought I was dreaming. After almost a year of delays,
technicalities, legalities & just tons of stress, it
was over. I was going to officially be sinking my teeth
into a delicious MoJoe bar in 4-6 short weeks! That is,
until I got home THAT NIGHT and checked my email. If you
noticed the homepage of this website before you read this
letter, you might know what I’m about to say. Without
getting into specifics, there were some trademark concerns
(and a misunderstanding) and we couldn’t take the
chance using the name “MoJoe”. After 10 months
of referring to this bar as the MoJoe bar, it was over…I
literally felt like my dog died!
This brings us to today. After getting pissed off and
wondering if this bar just wasn’t meant to be, I
had a revelation…This bar was never about having
a catchy name or a clever marketing campaign. This bar
was created to give athletes and “average Joe’s” a
great-tasting, healthy, energy-producing pre-workout snack
that would fill a void in the supplement industry. That’s
it…end of story. Although it won’t say “MoJoe” on
the wrapper, rest assure that the DeFranco Energy
Bar is the EXACT same bar that I’ve been
hyping for 6 months now. And rest assure, this bar WILL
live up to the hype! I’ve learned my lesson about
promising an exact date that this bar will be released.
What I can tell you is that we are VERY close to having
the final product in our hands. And rest assure that a
day doesn’t go by that we aren’t bustin’ our
ass to get this thing to you as soon as possible (end of
May is VERY realistic right now).

Tate/DeFranco Seminar Update!
As anticipated, it didn’t take long for this seminar
to sell out. We have a very diverse group of people that
have signed up for this event. Many different parts of
the country are represented…We even have attendees
coming from as far as the United Kingdom! It’s going
to be one hell of a weekend!
